Pulse Diagnosis, also known as Nadi Vijnana, is the ancient art of interpreting energetic information from the subtle anatomy, which helps identify the root cause of disease. Going beyong gross, physical Western anatomy, Ayurvedic subtle anatomy views the mind/body/spirit complex as a whole, being comprised of five layers, or sheaths, also known as Koshas:

• Annamaya Kosha (food sheath) is the Physical Body

•  Pranamaya Kosha (breath sheath) is the bridge between the Physical and Subtle Body

• Manomaya Kosha (mental sheath) is the Subtle Body and what is known as the mind

• Vijnanamaya Kosha (intelligence sheath) is the bridge between the Subtle and Karmic or Causal Body

• Anandamaya Kosha (bliss sheath) is the Karmic or Causal Body

While we have the physical body and our physical intelligence of pain and disease that we can explain to our practitioner, Pulse Diagnosis can go beyond the physical body, allowing the practitioner to read messages from one’s innate intelligence on the Pranamaya Kosha level. The practitioner’s ability to feel what is occurring on a more subtle level helps elucidate the cause of disease, which may even be unknown to the patient, and enables the practitioner to develop a plan to help heal disease at its origin.
